Organic Production
Organic consumers expect the highest level of food safety when purchasing organic products. Therefore, the entire chain associated with organic products is included in the regulatory control process. All producers bringing organic products to market are subject to organic control. There are some exceptions for retailers selling directly to consumers.
Organic products can be identified with proper organic labeling. The labeling of organic products is divided into two categories: products made with 100% organic ingredients and products made with only some organic ingredients, which are identified as such in the ingredient list. The new EC (European Commission) organic logo and the declaration of origin on 100% organic products provide consumers with more information about organic products.
Magenta provides certification to companies involved in production, storage, transportation, marketing, and import. The declaration must include the processes used in production, the ingredients used, and the labels of all organic products. Magenta verifies the definition and compliance with organic regulation requirements.
Such declarations are required for all procedures carried out by marketing and import companies. Importing organic products from outside the EU involves meeting a number of additional obligations to ensure due diligence.
