Input Production
Except for seeds, compliance certificates can be issued for all inputs used in organic farming. Compliance certificates may be requested for plant protection, fertilizers, and soil conditioners under certain conditions.
Accordingly, the production of these inputs must not cause environmental pollution. They should not threaten the ecosystem and must not pose a health risk to workers.
Producers of organic farming inputs must have a quality management system to ensure continued compliance. Personnel must be well-trained to ensure the complete implementation of the rules and procedures. Detailed records must be kept to track additives and ingredients for produced and sold products. In case of issues with produced products, the producer must halt packaging and initiate a recall procedure.
Companies that produce and sell organic and transitional products must clearly indicate which of their products are certified and which are not during promotion and information stages.
